Hemant Karamchand Rohera's patents by classification

Every granted patent carries a set of classification codes — the shelf marks a patent office uses to file it so that examiners and searchers can find it again. This page reads those codes for the three United States patents of Hemant Karamchand Rohera (Hemant Rohera, Hemant K. Rohera): the Hybrid Power Pack, US 10,523,019 B2; OMNIA Drive, US 11,117,476 B2; and eMedica, US 12,226,183 B2. Every code and every heading quoted below is copied from the patent's Google Patents record as read on 29 October 2026, and can be checked there.

How to read a classification code

The scheme is the Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC), run jointly by the European Patent Office and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. A code is read from left to right, from the broad to the narrow. Take H02J7/345, one of the Hybrid Power Pack codes:

LevelCodeHeading, as the record gives it
SectionHElectricity
ClassH02Generation; conversion or distribution of electric power
SubclassH02JElectric power networks; circuit arrangements or systems for supplying or distributing electric power; systems for storing electric energy
GroupH02J7/345Parallel operation in networks using both storage and other DC sources, e.g. providing buffering using capacitors as storage or buffering devices

Codes beginning Y are not technical shelves in the same sense: section Y is a general tagging section, and its Y02 class tags technologies for mitigation of, or adaptation to, climate change. Codes with a 2000-series group number (for example H01M2010/4271) are indexing codes that add detail to a main code.

What a classification is, and what it is not

A classification code says where a patent document is filed for search. Codes are assigned by the patent office to the subject matter the document discloses, and a single patent usually carries many of them. A code is not a claim: the scope of protection is set by the claims alone. Nor is a code a product description, a certification, an approval or a statement that something works. This page reports codes only; for what each patent claims, see the patent register and the pages linked under each family.

Hybrid Power Pack — US 10,523,019 B2

Granted 31 December 2019 (international publication WO 2017/009692 A1, priority 10 July 2015). The record carries 12 CPC codes at their most specific level, in two subclasses of section H plus one Y02 tag. Google Patents lists H02J7/0014 and H01M10/425 first.

CodeHeading, as the record gives it
H02J7/345Parallel operation in networks using both storage and other DC sources, e.g. providing buffering using capacitors as storage or buffering devices
H02J7/52Circuit arrangements for charging or discharging batteries or for supplying loads from batteries acting upon multiple batteries simultaneously or sequentially for charge balancing, e.g. equalisation of charge between batteries
H02J1/108Parallel operation of DC sources having arrangements for blocking reverse current flow, e.g. using diodes
H02J7/0014, H02J7/0072No heading is displayed for these two codes in the record read
H01M10/425Structural combination with electronic components, e.g. electronic circuits integrated to the outside of the casing
H01M10/4264— the same, with capacitors
H01M10/46Accumulators structurally combined with charging apparatus
H01M16/003Structural combinations of different types of electrochemical generators … with other electrochemical devices, e.g. capacitors, electrolysers
H01M2010/4271Battery management systems including electronic circuits, e.g. control of current or voltage to keep battery in healthy state, cell balancing
H01M2010/4278Systems for data transfer from batteries, e.g. transfer of battery parameters to a controller, data transferred between battery controller and main controller
Y02E60/50Fuel cells (climate-change mitigation tag, energy generation, transmission or distribution)

Read together, the shelf marks describe the invention the way an examiner would search for it: capacitors buffering a battery on a shared DC bus (H02J7/345), charge balancing (H02J7/52), blocking reverse current between parallel sources (H02J1/108) and electronics built into the battery pack, including capacitors and battery management (H01M10/425, H01M10/4264, H01M2010/4271). The international publication WO 2017/009692 A1 carries the same set less the two H02J7/00… codes for which no heading is displayed. The mechanism these codes point at is explained in Two Stores, One Power Pack.

OMNIA Drive — US 11,117,476 B2

Granted 14 September 2021 (international publication WO 2017/051299 A1, priority 25 September 2015). The record carries 26 CPC codes at their most specific level. Google Patents lists B60L50/50 and B60L53/20 first.

SubclassCodesWhat the headings cover, as the record gives them
B60L13Electric propulsion with power supplied within the vehicle by batteries or fuel cells (B60L50/50, 50/75, 50/90); on-board charging with converters located in the vehicle (B60L53/20), photovoltaic means (53/51) and wind-driven generators (53/52); monitoring or controlling batteries, and a combination of batteries and fuel cells (58/10, 58/40); converting light, and flow of air, into electric energy (8/003, 8/006); AC-to-AC, AC-to-DC and DC-to-AC converters (2210/20, /30, /40)
H02J5Dispersed generators (H02J3/381); circuits supplying loads from the battery (7/855); battery or charger load switching, e.g. concurrent charging and load supply (7/865); and 7/0063, 7/0068, for which no heading is displayed
B60T, F16D2Braking that utilises wheel movement for accumulating energy (B60T1/10); brakes with means for making the energy absorbed available for use (F16D61/00)
B60Y2Indexing: electric vehicles; hybrid vehicles
Y02T4Climate-change mitigation tags for transportation: energy storage for electromobility; electromobility charging systems for batteries and supercapacitors; electric charging stations; hydrogen technology in transportation

The OMNIA Drive record is the broadest of the three energy-side records because the specification describes several on-board sources — the codes for photovoltaic, air-flow and braking-energy inputs index that description. The granted claim is narrower than its shelf marks: it is a claim to a control architecture that reads the state of charge of the storage device and selects the motor's source against a threshold, while charging the store and driving the motor at the same time. The code that sits closest to that claim is H02J7/865, concurrent charging and load supply. The claim is explained in State of charge as a switch, and the physics of the sources in Where the energy comes from.

eMedica — US 12,226,183 B2

Granted 18 February 2025, titled Medical therapeutic device. The record carries 61 CPC codes at their most specific level, across six subclasses: 22 in A61B (diagnosis; surgery; identification), 10 in A61N (electrotherapy; magnetotherapy; radiation therapy; ultrasound therapy), 19 in A61H (physical therapy apparatus), 4 in A61M, 1 in A61F and 5 in G16H (healthcare informatics). Google Patents lists A61N1/36031, control systems using physiological parameters for adjustment, and A61B5/002, monitoring the patient using a local or closed circuit, first.

The breadth of this list reflects how widely the specification is indexed for search, not what the device is cleared, licensed or shown to do. A subclass heading such as A61N names a whole shelf, not a property of this device. This page makes no statement about the device's clinical use. For what eMedica is — a non-invasive bioelectronic device delivering controlled voltage, current and frequency through conductive contact, used as an adjuvant alongside prescribed medical care — and for its regulatory status, see What eMedica is, precisely. The full code list is on the Google Patents record linked below.

Three families, three different shelves

Placed side by side, the records show something the patent count alone does not: the three inventions are filed in three different sections of the classification. The Hybrid Power Pack sits in section H (electricity — power supply and batteries), OMNIA Drive leads in section B (performing operations; transporting — vehicles), and eMedica in section A (human necessities — medical science). One inventor, Hemant Karamchand Rohera, is the sole named inventor on all three.
